1st XI vs St Faith’s, Wednesday 16th May 2012
Felsted lost by 4 runs
On a slow pitch we restricted the St Faith’s batsmen to 103 for 9 from 28 overs, with some sound bowling performances from Ned Potter, Charlie Latham, Oliver Tredgett, Will Buttleman and Archie Lucas. In chasing our opponents total we started steadily scoring just about on the required rate, getting to 43 runs when the first wicket fell (Matthew Morley-Jacob 21). Will Buttleman batted well for his 25, before falling with the total at 67 for 2. The remaining batsman chipped away at the target and we finally reached 99 for 9, just 4 runs short. The St Faith’s bowling was generally accurate and their fielding made it hard for our batsmen to get on top at any stage. Overall an enjoyable game of cricket from both teams.
