Wednesday 24th April
1st XI
Match Drawn
Playing a timed game meant we had potentially a lot of overs to compile a decent total. We scored at total of 114 all out from 24 overs, having wickets taken at regular intervals. Apart from Will Buttleman (75 not out), who played extremely well, striking the ball with superb timing, none of the other 10 batsmen really contributed to the total. The RHS opening bowler did bowl a very tight line and length, creating a lot of problems for us and ended up taking 7 wickets, a great achievement.
In the opening two overs we took the two opening batsmen's wickets and the pressure was beginning to increase. A solid innings from the RHS number three (38) steadied things for our opponents and they slowly moved towards their target. With some fine accurate bowling from N Hebron, E Snooks (2 wkts each) and R MacLennan (3 wkts) we narrowly missed bowling them all out. The RHS total was 98 for 9 when we ran out of time.
Overall an exciting and competitive game of cricket.
2nd v RHS
Felsted win
RHS batted first and scored 88 runs off their 25 overs. Good tight bowling from all. Felsted scored runs quickly after tea and reached the RHS total with 10 overs to spare. A good opening partnership from Thomas Jardine and Cameron Cowie, with Thomas Jardine top scoring with 28. Solidly supported by Harry Nicholls and Owen Thomas.
Felsted 3rd XI
A patient but vitally important 48 from Jo Head together with contributions from Cochrane, Martine, Stonham and Hadley gave Felsted a total 151 for 6 from their 25 over.
RHS scored quickly against Felsted, but lost early wickets. Both Barber and Bridgewater bowled well. Turner-Jones took a couple of wickets late in the innings but in general Felsted bowed poorly and gave away far too many wides. However, RHS were dismissed in the 19th over to give Felsted victory by 60 runs. Man of the match shared between Joe Head for his 48 runs and William Barker, who captained the side really well and took 3 wickets.
A great effort. Well done KCS
Felsted 4th XI
The 4th XI played their second match of the season against the Royal Hospital School. Felsted batted first and after some steady middle order batting managed to get 157/9, thanks to Max McIlvenna, Jed Liddell and Dan Conlon top scoring. In reply the boys started strongly, and at one point in the game had RHS 14/6 with the only runs coming from extras! The boys kept going and with some great fielding, including a direct hit by Ross Ingram, bowled RHS out for 32. Well done to Ross Ingram and Johnathon Barber for taking 3 wickets each. A great team effort and a brilliant 125 run victory.
