U11 C v Friends' School

These are always difficult encounters as we were playing their A team. In a small school like this, they have less boys to choose from, but there are always a handful of very talented cricketers. This year there were at least four boys who would be playing in our A team and they dominated the match with some excellent bowling and confident batting. However, excuses over, we managed a creditable 82 in our 20 overs, although again we were a little slow off the mark when it came to scoring runs. They then batted and, even though we bowled very well and fielded excellently, they managed the total in the penultimate over. Even though we lost, it was a good performance on the day which, had we scored more runs more quickly, could have been a different result.
